In science, students Zoomed In on a picture and discussed what they saw and what they thought about the image. Students discovered they were Zooming In on plant roots!

Students generated a list of living things, sorted them into groups and then made connections to the groups. Take a look at some of the thinking below.
First Graders created questions about non-fiction texts and then placed them on a continuum. Students decided if the questions were thick (complex) or thin (simple) questions or if they fell somewhere in the middle.
Students from Mrs. Bender's class, Mrs. Rowe's class and Mrs. Stransky's class explore the thinking of various characters through the Step Inside thinking routine.
First Graders continue to practice making a claim and providing evidence through the Claim Evidence thinking routine.
